Transferring Credits

transferring-credits

When you first enroll at Lincoln University College, you have options in terms of your studies.

One option is that you can build on your Lincoln educational experience to transfer to other universities.

The Credit Transfer System is one which easily outlines for you, the student, the courses you may take which readily transfer to foreign universities of higher learning in the U.S., Canada, Australia, U.K. New Zealand, Europe.

Universities require that you have a basic understanding across disciplines, before choosing a higher degree.

Lincoln University College offers a Basic Skill and General Education Program which provides the student with standardized courses that more easily transfer to institutions of higher learning.

HOW DOES THE CREDIT SYSTEM WORK?

The Credit Transfer System will assist you in calculating how many and what type of credits you will be able to transfer from Lincoln to another institution.
By enrolling in the Basic Skills and General Education Program you are securing the academic building blocks for further studies.

What are credit hours?

Generally a credit assignment of 3 credits is given per course or 3 hours per week of class time. This also works out to 42 hours of class time. It is based on the number of hours of face to face class time over a period of approximately 14 weeks. This may vary based on the institution.

What is GPA and CGPA?

GPA stands for Grade Point Average. Points are given based on the students marks. GPA is calculated by taking the number of grade points a student earned in a given period of time divided by the total number of credits taken. The GPA can be used by potential employers or further post-secondary institutions to assess and compare applicants. A Cumulative Grade Point Average is a calculation of the average of all of a student's grades for all semesters and courses completed up to a given academic term. For example, semester 1 – GPA is 2.5, semester 2 – GPA is 3.0, CGPA is the total of the two divided by two, 2.75.
