PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Master of Business Administration in Project Management KPT/JPS(PA 8375)07/22

In the current market dynamism and fast-changing business environment, projects are being used more frequently to plan and to manage multiple projects at once. The MBA in Project Management is to train professionals with systemic vision who are able to perform in both public or private organizations in any branch of economic activity, using techniques, technological tools and best market practices, based on the knowledge and encompassing steps of initiation, planning, executing, controlling and closing projects. The program would also encourage entrepreneurship so that new infrastructure businesses are developed within the country in order to contribute to the country's development and economic prosperity. This program provides the foundation of a master’s degree in business administration, with an emphasis on leadership and problem-solving. In a rapidly globalizing economy, there is an increased call for the skills needed to successfully create and implement a business plan in real time. The program prepares students to act decisively and strategically in real world scenarios.

For successful completion of Masters degree in LUC, each candidate should publish minimum of Two research articles in scopus indexed journals, with Lincoln affiliation.

The Master of Project Management aims to produce graduates who have appropriate skills and knowledge to be capable of managing small, medium and large-sized projects either as a senior team leader, a project manager or project director.

The program of Master of Business Administration in Project Management will produce Project Managers who are:

  • Knowledgeable to apply project management skills in order to handle the challenges and opportunities of the rapidly evolving project management sector.

  • Capable of working successfully as a professional who practices appropriate values and ethics in different projects by taking into consideration the societal benefit.

  • Able to communicate in a team to initiate, execute and evaluate a project plan for the development and practice of critical thinking and effective managerial skills to solve problems as a leader.

  • Able to be engage in independent and life-long learning in the broader context of technological change for project management in the public, private and international spheres.

Project management offers exciting career prospects. They are very important for successful business in sectors like engineering, manufacturing and in numerous service-based areas. Project managers play a pivotal role in IT, telecoms, health services and education, local and national government, media, sport, and leisure. MBA of Project Management can get jobs in large construction companies, oil and gas exploration companies, mining companies and federal or state bodies. Experienced professionals in this field are frequently put in charge of projects in foreign countries and work independently with local contractors. After completion of this course individuals may find positions as:

Entry Requirements :

  1. A Bachelor's degree (Level 6 Malaysian Qualification Framework, MQF) with minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00 or its equivalent qualifications as accepted by the Senate of Lincoln University College; Or
  2. A Bachelor's degree (Level 6, MQF) with CGPA below 2.50 out of 4.00 or its equivalent qualifications can be accepted, subject to a minimum of 5 years of working experience in relevant field.
    For International Students

    International students are required to achieve a minimum score of 6.0 for International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or its equivalent.
